Hi, I’m keeley!
I'm the artist, maker, creative thinker and occasional creator of things that probably didn't need to exist behind Sweet As Creative Studio.
I've always loved creating.
For me, making things has always been an outlet. A chance to get completely absorbed in the process, play around with ideas and create simply because I want to.
It doesn't always need to have a deeper meaning.
Sometimes you just want to make something colourful because it makes you happy.
And that's really where Sweet As came from.
Why Sweet As?
I started Sweet As Creative Studio because I wanted to share that feeling of creating with other people.
Originally, the business began with creative workshops. I loved watching someone walk into a class with little or no experience, spend a couple of hours making something, and then look at what they'd created and say:
"Wow. I did that!"
That feeling is what I want Sweet As to be about.
Creativity doesn't have to be intimidating.
It doesn't have to be perfect.
And you definitely don't need to consider yourself an "artist" to make something you're proud of.
These days, Sweet As has grown into much more than workshops.
I create original artwork, prints, jewellery, homewares, stickers, creative kits and all sorts of other fun things that take my fancy.
My work jumps between watercolour, acrylic, resin, digital art, collage, mixed media, junk art and whatever other medium happens to catch my attention.
There isn't one particular style I want to stick to.
I like making things too much to put myself in a box.
What's next?
My dream is to continue growing Sweet As into a place where creativity is everywhere — eventually with my own studio and store where people can come in, discover artwork, pick up something handmade, get stuck into a creative project or simply be surrounded by things that make them happy.
For now, I'm building that world one creative idea at a time.
